We ride for an hour on an out and back route through residential neighborhoods with no set distance. We ride out 30 minutes, turn around and ride back - The more you do this ride the farther you will go in that time!

Ride is led by experienced and trained ride leaders

No Rider Left Behind - This is a no drop ride, so if you are a more experienced rider who wants to pay if forward, don't bring your fancy road racer. This is an opportunity to get out and shake the dust off of one of your alternative rides :)

    • Eagle Creek Park - 7840 West 56th Street Indianapolis, IN 46254

    Organizer: Scott Chapman

Classic Eagle Creek park ride, started by organizer Julie C. almost 5 years ago.

We will meet at the parking lot on your right as you come in the gate at 56th street.

5-mile loop ride suitable for all levels of rider, few hilly parking lots to increase intensity and mileage if desired.

The terrain is mildly hilly, but a great place to start if new to climbing and the environment lends itself to helping new riders learn. This is a beautiful place to ride and we often will see a lot of deer as an added bonus.

If you can't make it in time for the 6:30 PM start and need to arrive later consider riding the route backwards to meet the group for the 2nd loop. Text me at 317-442-3882 before the start and we will keep an eye out for you!

See What to Bring and Rules of the Road pages

We plan to be on the road at 6:30 PM so get there at least 15 minutes early to get bikes ready and go over rules of the road.

I like to park across 56th street at soccer fields by colts complex and ride over, saves a couple bucks vs driving into the park. Per website: $1.50 to ride in, $5 (Marion county resident discount) or $6 to drive in. Or yearly pass option: $35 biker/hiker pass, $50 (Marion county resident discount) or $60 for car pass.

BTW - I have yearly pass that gets about 5 riders in, so if get to soccer field early enough I can get some of you in for free.

This ride will happen every week.

Faster people can ride at whatever pace they want and no one will be left behind. This ride is great for people who want a challenging training ride or just a nice social ride with some exercise involved!

James Deno was tragically taken from this earth in July of 2017 leaving behind his wife, Martha, and 5 children. In lieu of flowers, family asked for contributions to the St. Augustine Church building fund. Through the funds donated and generosity of the community in honor of James, there have been several improvements made to the church rectory that was in desperate need of repair. Those funds are dwindling and there is still more work to be done. The family would also like to begin a scholarship in James' name to be given to a local high school graduate that is looking to pursue a career related to the agriculture industry that James worked in all of his life. Being an avid cyclist herself, his daughter, Julie, thought a cycling event made perfect sense. Please join us and support us in keeping the good work going that all started because of our fathers tragic death. God bless you! Donations accepted as well.

Ride details: 10 miles (no SAG), 25 miles, 35 miles, and 62 miles. All routes will be marked. There will be SAG stops along the route with snacks and drinks to refuel. Mobile SAG will be provided as well. All routes will begin and end at Fair Oaks Farms. There is also a hotel on site for out of town riders. There is also a delicious restaurant on the property as well.

With rolling hills and steep mountains, Death Valley is also famous for Badwater, which is the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. Whether you're a competitive cyclist, Sunday rider or novice, you’re sure to enjoy an incredible weekend—and the haunting beauty—that brings JDRF Riders back year after year to cycle up to 100 miles.
